Results: improve service, increase productivity, increase flexibility, improve quality
In this industry errors have significant health consequences. The business had suffered a few close calls and recognised that if things were not changed quickly, patients would be exposed. Issues that could effect patient welfare needed to be fixed fast, and a culture of service excellence needed to be developed.
To fix immediate problems 5S blitzes were conducted with a focus on organisation of support areas. The lack of formality in these areas could lead to administrative errors which had the potential to result in adverse patient outcomes.
Efficiency Works provided the following results:
